Gundicha Temple, known as the 'Garden House' of Lord Jagannath, holds profound spiritual significance in Hindu tradition and Odia culture. Located approximately three kilometers from the main Jagannath Temple in Puri, this sacred shrine remains largely vacant throughout the year but transforms into a center of devotion during the annual Rath Yatra festival. During this seven-day period, the temple welcomes the divine images of Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra, drawing thousands of devotees and pilgrims. The temple's origins trace back to the 12th century during the reign of King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva, the same ruler who commissioned the Jagannath Temple.
