About Shree Nathji Sanatan
Located on Ealing Road in Wembley, London, this Hindu temple was constructed over 14 years by the charity Shri Vallabh Nidhi UK and opened in summer 2010 following the Pran Prathistha ceremony. The temple's architecture follows Northern Indian tradition and the principles of Shilpa Shastras, with its distinctive sand-coloured exterior walls and domes constructed from yellow Jaisalmer limestone and pink Bansi Paharpur stone from Rajasthan. The structure spans 20,900 square feet on a 2.4-acre plot, measuring 182 feet by 115 feet with a maximum height of 66 feet at the main Shikhar. Notable architectural features include 210 hand-carved pillars depicting Hindu scriptures, 117 ceilings with 34 design types, and intricate carvings of scenes from the Mahabharata, Ramayana, and Shrimad Bhagvatam. The temple employs no structural steel framework, relying entirely on self-load-bearing masonry construction, with only copper, silver, and gold permitted as supplementary materials for spiritual reasons. The two domes feature 18 Radha murtis in the larger dome and 18 sant murtis in the smaller dome.
