About saraswathi temple

Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam is an ancient temple located in Basara village, approximately 240 kilometers by road from Hyderabad and 30 kilometers from Nizamabad in Nirmal District, Telangana. The temple is uniquely dedicated to Goddess Saraswathi, the divine embodiment of knowledge and learning, and is the only such temple in South India. According to legend, after the Mahabharata war, sage Veda Vyasa undertook a pilgrimage seeking peace and reached the serene Kumaranchala hills on the banks of river Godavari, where he meditated and propitiated the Goddess, who eventually appeared before him and granted her presence in the form of the divine trinity. The temple also houses the abodes of Goddess Lakshmi and Kali, along with associated shrines including Sri Vyaseshwara Alayam, Sri Suryeshwara Alayam, and Vyasa Guha. The temple offers various sevas including Arjitha Sevas, Saswatha Poojas, Saswatha Annadhanam schemes, and Kumkumarchana Pooja, with accommodation facilities available for pilgrims.
