The Nallakunta math and temple complex was established on land donated by Sri Raja Venkata Rao Limbekar to honor the 34th Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Chandrashekhara Bharathi Mahaswamiji. The donor also funded the construction of the two main temples. The formal consecration ceremony (Pratishtha kumbhabhishekam) was performed by the 35th Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji on April 26, 1960, marking Akshaya Tritiya. Since its inauguration, the institution has served as a spiritual center for the Hindu community in Hyderabad, hosting major festivals, vratas, and religious observances in accordance with traditional scriptures under the guidance of successive Jagadgurus.
