This family temple of the Kalloorath household was built in 1989 by K.K. Thankapan and his family, who involved the public in its administration by selecting 51 neighbors as governing body members. The temple's origins trace back to the early 20th century when Late Kuttapan constructed a small shrine after a Devaprasanam revealed the presence of Devi requiring shelter outside his home. The connection to Moothedathu Devi Temple stems from Gowri Kuttapan's grandfather, who was a devoted worshipper and velichappadu (oracle) of that temple, leaving behind a sacred sword that became central to the family's spiritual practice. The shrine features traditional Kerala architectural style and draws devotees throughout the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere intensifying during evening rituals and festival celebrations when special pujas are performed.
