Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman Temple stands in Tiruvappur within Thirukokarnam, situated about five kilometres from Pudukkottai in Tamil Nadu. The temple features a traditional architectural design with a sanctum sanctorum, front mandapa, and flagstaff. The deity is worshipped in a seated posture. According to local tradition, the sacred origin of the temple began beneath a venerable Neem tree, where devotees first experienced the benevolent grace of Amman and offered Neem leaves for relief from ailments such as chickenpox and smallpox. The temple is currently undergoing reconstruction to expand into a larger sanctuary. Major festivals celebrated include Thai Pongal, Thaipoosam, Aadi month special pujas, and Navaratri. A Maha Kumbabishekam ceremony is scheduled for 15th January 2026.
