About Mannur Mahadeva Temple
Located in Kadalundi village near Kozhikode, Mannur Mahadeva Temple is a revered Shiva sanctuary with architectural roots tracing back over a millennium. The temple showcases the Gajaprathista style with intricate carvings and a two-level central sanctum. Lord Shiva is enshrined here in his Aghoramurthy form, depicted in an intense aspect. According to local tradition, sage Parashurama initiated Shiva Linga installation at Tiruvannur and completes the ritual here daily at noon, making the midday pujas particularly significant. The temple also houses shrines dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Goddess Parvathi, Dakshinamurthy, and Lord Ganesh. Devotees gather throughout the day for darshan, with the atmosphere intensifying during evening rituals and major festivals, particularly the Sivaratri celebration in February.
