Thalikkunu Shiva Temple stands as a revered spiritual landmark in Mankave, Kozhikode, Kerala, representing one of the oldest places of worship in the Malabar region. The temple has witnessed significant historical turbulence, surviving multiple attacks throughout its existence. Currently administered under the Zamorin of Calicut, the temple was among those damaged during Tipu Sultan's military campaigns in the late 18th century. Following Tipu Sultan's defeat at Srirangapatnam and the Treaty of 1792, the Zamorin undertook reconstruction efforts on many damaged temples in the region, including this one. The temple remains an important cultural and religious center, drawing devotees and heritage enthusiasts alike with its serene atmosphere, intricate craftsmanship, and deep spiritual significance that reflects the enduring faith and traditions of the Malabar community.
