About Kalikamba Temple
Located in the Sringeri Sharada Peetham complex in Chikkamagaluru District, Sri Kalikamba Temple is constructed in the traditional Malnad architectural style with a wooden and tiled roof. The sanctum houses a beautifully crafted idol of Goddess Kalikamba seated in padmasana with four arms, holding a trishula, damaru, khadga, and cup. The pradakshina path within the shrine is adorned with framed images of various deities and a prominent silk Sri Chakra. The temple serves as an important spiritual center within one of the four original Advaita Vedanta establishments founded by Adi Shankaracharya. Annual celebrations occur during Margashirsha Poornima with grand festivities including Shata Chandi Homa and Deepotsava, accompanied by special pujas performed by the Jagadguru.
