About Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple
Originally constructed in 1922, this historic Hindu temple underwent a transformative renovation in 2009 that resulted in its remarkable glass design. The interior features nearly 300,000 pieces of mosaic glass in shades of red, blue, yellow, and purple covering approximately 90% of the structure, creating a luminous and ethereal atmosphere when illuminated. Ten gold sculptures positioned near the ceiling enhance the temple's aesthetic beauty. The temple serves as both an active place of Hindu worship and a significant cultural landmark symbolizing peace and inclusivity. It was officially recognized by the Malaysian Book of Records in 2010 as the first and only glass temple in Malaysia.
