The Brihadeeswara Temple in Thanjavur, also known as Peruvudaiyar Kovil, is a magnificent 11th-century shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, built by Chola Emperor Raja Raja Chola I and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
