The Sri Varasidhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple stands as one of the most significant shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesha in South India. The temple's primary deity is believed to be Swayambhu, a self-manifested form of Vinayaka, uniquely enshrined within a perpetually water-filled well. According to temple lore, the deity idol increases in size over time, adding to its mystical significance. Constructed during the early 11th century CE under the patronage of Chola Emperor Kulothunga I, the temple underwent substantial expansion in 1336 by the Vijayanagara emperors, resulting in its distinctive Dravidian architectural style. The temple draws devotees throughout the day for darshan and aarti, with the spiritual atmosphere intensifying during evening rituals and festival celebrations when special pujas are performed. Located in Kanipakam village within Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, approximately 11 kilometers from Chittoor city and 68 kilometers from Tirupati, the temple remains under the administration of the Endowments Department of Andhra Pradesh.
