About Sri Kashi Bugga Mandir

The Kashi Vishwanath Temple represents one of Hinduism's most sacred pilgrimage destinations, located in the ancient city of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The temple's current structure was constructed in 1780 by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore. The temple received significant embellishment when Maharaja Ranjeet Singh of the Sikh Empire donated gold plating for two of its domes in 1839. In 1983, the Government of Uttar Pradesh assumed management of the temple, establishing the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust to oversee operations and devotee services. The temple attracts approximately 45,000 pilgrims daily and has become one of India's most visited Hindu temples. In 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi oversaw major development through the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project. The temple offers multiple darshan options, online booking facilities, live darshan broadcasts, and various guest accommodations for visitors.
