Sanjeevi Rayar
About Sanjeevi Rayar
Located in Iyengarkulam near Kanchipuram, Sri Sanjeeviraayar Temple enshrines Lord Anjaneya (Hanuman) as its primary deity. According to temple tradition, the name Sanjeeviraayar commemorates the sacred Sanjeevi herb from Sanjeevi Mountain, which was sought to revive Lakshmana after he was struck unconscious by Indrajit's Naagasthra weapon during the intense battle between Sri Rama and Ravana in Lanka. The temple celebrates Hanuman's divine attributes including his immortality, self-control, inner beauty, and shapeshifting abilities. Devotees visit the temple seeking the blessings of Lord Hanuman for strength and courage to overcome life's obstacles.
