Located in Mayiladuthurai district, Tamil Nadu, this temple houses the presiding deity Rudrakodisvarar represented by a lingam, with the goddess known as Tirupurasundari and Karpuravalli. The shrine is significant in Hindu mythology as the site where the asura's body fell after consuming amrita during the churning of the divine ocean; this event led to the creation of Kethu, one of the Navagrahas. The temple features a compound wall with entrance, bali pita, nandhi, and prakara shrines dedicated to Vishnu, Ganesha, and Subramania with his consorts. A separate shrine houses Kethu, while the inner sanctum contains representations of Dakshinamurthy, Lingodbhava, and Durga.
