About Ramakrishna Madam

The Math celebrates major Hindu festivals throughout the year, including Ramanavami, Maha Shivaratri, Janmashtami, Kali Puja, and Durga Puja. Additional observances include Kalpataru Day on 1 January, Pongal, Sri Chaitanya Jayanti, Tamil New Year Day, Atchaya Tiruthiyai, and the birthdays of Sri Shankaracharya and Sri Ramanuja. Deepavali is marked with Kali Puja, and Karthikai Deepam is also observed. The Math conducts Navaratri celebrations with Sri Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja.

Beyond regular festivals, the Math organizes occasional special events including Thiruvilakku Puja (Deepa Puja), Akhanda Nama Japa, and complete chanting of Thiruvasakam. Spiritual retreats are held from time to time, comprising discourses, bhajans, archana (ritual worship), meditation, nama parayana (chanting of divine names), and question-and-answer sessions, typically running from 9 am to 5 pm.
