About Perakam Mahadeva Temple

Located in Perakam village of Thrissur District, this venerable temple enshrines Lord Shiva as its presiding deity. According to local tradition, the sacred idol was installed by the legendary sage Parashurama. The temple complex also houses several sub-deities including Lord Ayyappa, Vettakkorumakan, Ganapathi, Bhagavathy, and Nagas. Recognized as one of the 108 significant Shiva temples documented in the Shivalaya Sothram, the temple is estimated to be approximately 200 years old and continues to serve as an important place of worship in the region.
