Dhakeshwari National Temple is Bangladesh's state-owned National Hindu Temple, dedicated to Goddess Dhakeshwari, after whom the capital city itself is named. Founded in the 12th century by King Ballal Sen, it stands as the largest and most significant Hindu place of worship in Bangladesh. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
