About Balaji ka mandir

Shri Balaji Maharaj Temple at Mehandipur is situated between two hills in Ghata Mehandipur, Dausa district, Rajasthan, and stands as a world-renowned pilgrimage site. The temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman in his childhood form (Balaji), believed to have manifested himself centuries ago in a divine manifestation. The shrine houses three principal deities in adjacent sanctums: Shri Balaji Maharaj (the self-manifested murti on stone), Pret Raj Sarkar (the king of ghosts, a form of Bhairava), and Bhairav Baba (Kal Bhairav). The temple is particularly distinguished for its unique rituals—arzi (written petitions for relief), darkhast (formal request rituals with laddoo offerings), and sawamani (thanksgiving rituals)—which address afflictions including illness, mental disturbance, possession, and domestic discord. The mahant lineage has maintained continuous service for approximately fifteen generations since the deity's manifestation.
