About the temple

Annappanpettai Sundareswarar Temple is an ancient Shiva shrine located in Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu, where the presiding deity is worshipped as Sundareswarar with his consort Azhagammai. The temple is one of the eight Shiva temples on the northern bank of the Cauvery praised in the Thevaram hymns of Saint Tirugnana Sambandar. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
