About the temple

Ananthapura Lake Temple is Kerala's only temple situated in the middle of a lake, dedicated to Lord Ananthapadmanabha and traditionally believed to be the original abode of the deity now enshrined in Thiruvananthapuram's Padmanabhaswamy Temple. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
