About Thrikkakara Temple

Located in Thrikkakara, Ernakulam District, this ancient temple is approximately two millennia old and stands as a capital shrine of the mythical kingdom of King Mahabali. The temple's unique distinction lies in its simultaneous veneration of Lord Vamana Moorthy (Trivikrama) and Mahabali, a practice found nowhere else in Kerala. The Onam ritual performed here is considered the most authentic expression of Kerala's most significant harvest festival, drawing thousands of devotees across the state during the ten-day celebration in August or September. The temple operates daily with morning darshan from 4:30 AM to 11:30 AM and evening darshan from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, with various pujas and sevas available throughout the day.
