Supa Deurali Temple
About Supa Deurali Temple
Built in 1543 AD by King Biswa Pal Shah during the Baise-Chaubise era, Supa Deurali Temple stands as a testament to Nepal's spiritual heritage. Located in Sandhikharka municipality atop the Mahabharat Range, the temple features distinctive multi-tiered Newari-style pagoda architecture set dramatically against a rocky gorge and forested hills. The shrine houses Goddess Supadevi, a powerful manifestation of Bhagavati, alongside idols of Ganesh, Mahakali, Mahalaxmi, and Shiva. The temple operates twenty-four hours daily, making it the only round-the-clock temple in Arghakhanchi district. Annual donations of approximately 15 million Nepali rupees support two local schools and village development initiatives. The site attracts over one million annual visitors who come to experience both its spiritual significance and natural beauty, including nearby waterfalls and suspension bridges.
