The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir of Chicago, located in the suburb of Bartlett, opened its doors on August 7, 2004, as a sacred place of worship established by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, a denomination within the Swaminarayan Sampradaya of Hinduism. The mandir was constructed according to ancient Shilpa shastras architectural principles and features exquisite hand-carved Italian marble and Turkish limestone throughout its structure. Spanning 27 acres, the complex encompasses not only the main mandir but also a haveli, creating a comprehensive spiritual campus. Under the spiritual guidance of Mahant Swami Maharaj, the temple serves as the largest BAPS mandir in Illinois and attracts devotees seeking darshan and participation in daily aartis and pujas.
