About Pilot Baba Ashram
Located approximately 8 kilometers from Mathura on the Mathura-Vrindavan road, Pagal Baba Temple stands as a modern architectural marvel in the Nagara style, reaching 221 feet in height across nine floors. The temple was constructed in 1969 by Shri Leelanand Thakur, affectionately known as Pagal Baba due to his unconventional devotion to Lord Krishna. The shrine is distinguished by its eternal flame (Akhand Jyoti), puppet shows depicting scenes from the Mahabharata and Ramayana, and a serene spiritual atmosphere that attracts devotees particularly from Assam, West Bengal, and Odisha. The topmost floor offers panoramic vistas of the sacred Vrindavan region, making it a significant pilgrimage destination.
