This Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, stands as a significant cultural and architectural landmark in South Africa's heritage. Erected in 1899 by the celebrated architect and builder Kristappa Reddy, it represents his first major construction project. The structure features distinctive architectural elements including a heavily modulated perimeter wall, an entrance portal crowned by a Sikhala tower, and an axial cella design. Located in Inanda within the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, the temple was formally recognized as a provincial heritage site and documented in the Government Gazette in 1977, acknowledging its unique contribution to South Africa's diverse cultural landscape.
