About Malayalapuzha Devi Temple

Located in Malayalappuzha town near Pathanamthitta in Kerala, this sacred temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali, a fierce manifestation of the divine feminine who vanquished the demon Darika. The temple houses a 5.5-foot-tall idol crafted from katu sarkara yogam, a rare and special preparation. The shrine is renowned for its exquisite wall paintings, intricate stone carvings, and architectural elements including a unique statue of Goddess Parvati feeding baby Ganapathy. Sub-deities within the temple include Veera Bhadra at the sanctum entrance, Brahma Rakshas, Nagaraja, and a swayambu Shiva Linga. The temple attracts over 100,000 devotees weekly, with Tuesday and Friday being particularly popular days. Devotees visit seeking prosperity, protection, matrimonial alliances, employment, and business success. The temple is administered by the Travancore Devaswom Board and is notable for performing Satha Kodi Archana, a unique ritual performed here.
