About the temple

Malamakkavu Ayyappa Temple in Anakkara, Palakkad, is a centuries-old shrine dedicated to Lord Ayyappan and ranks among the 108 sacred Ayyappa temples of Kerala. The temple is distinguished by the rare Chengazhinir Poovu flower that grows only in its pond. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
