About the temple

Kottukal Cave Temple is a rock-cut shrine carved from a single massive rock between the 6th and 8th centuries CE, housing sculptures of Lord Shiva, Ganesha, and Hanuman within two east-facing caves in Kerala's Kollam district. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
