About the temple

Sri Govindarajaswamy Temple is an ancient 12th-century Vaishnavite shrine in Tirupati, consecrated in 1130 AD by Ramanuja. The temple enshrines Lord Vishnu in his reclining form as Govindaraja Swamy and remains one of the city's most significant spiritual landmarks. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
