About Eachanari Vinayagar Temple

Arulmigu Eachanari Vinayagar Temple stands as one of India's most revered Ganesha temples, situated in the village of Eachanari near Coimbatore. The temple is constructed in the Dravidian architectural style and spans 75 acres. The founding narrative recounts that when a massive Vinayagar idol measuring 6 feet in height and 3 feet in diameter was being transported from Madurai by cart to be installed in the Perur Pateeswarar temple, the cart's axle fractured at the present temple location. Despite efforts to repair the cart and continue the journey, the idol could not be moved, leading local devotees to establish a shrine at that sacred spot. The temple attracts millions of devotees annually and is considered highly significant for worship of Ganesha across southern India. Darshan is completely free for all visitors.
