The temple complex serves as a major center of faith for devotees across Chhattisgarh and neighboring Maharashtra. The hilltop shrine is accessible via both a stairway and ropeway facility, offering panoramic views surrounded by forests, hills, and reservoirs. The temple observes grand festivals twice yearly during Chaitra Navratri (March/April) and Sharadiya Navratri (September/October), attracting hundreds of thousands of pilgrims who participate in the tradition of lighting Jyoti Kalash. Amenities include drinking water, electricity, rest houses, dining facilities, and religious merchandise shops. The goddess is believed to be an incarnation of Bagalamukhi, one of the ten Mahavidyas, and according to local legend, an ancient king of Kamakhya Nagari constructed the temple to protect his kingdom.
