About the temple

Ambal Brahmapureeswarar Temple is a historic Shiva shrine in Tamil Nadu where the presiding deity is worshipped as Brahmapureeswarar, with his consort Parvati venerated as Poonguzhalammai. Revered in the 7th-century Tevaram canon as one of 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, it is believed to be the last of sixty temples built by Kochengat Chola. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
