About Amaravila Rameswaram Sri Mahadeva Temple
Amaravila Rameswaram Sri Mahadeva Temple is a revered Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of Rameswaram Mahadeva, located approximately one kilometer from Neyyattinkara town in the Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. The temple stands on the banks of the Neyyar River and exemplifies traditional Kerala-style sacred architecture. The presiding deity, Lord Rameswara, faces west, while the Shiva Lingam within the sanctum sanctorum faces east, with Goddess Parvati also enshrined in the same inner chamber. The temple is recognized as one of two Rameswaram temples among Kerala's 108 Shivalaya Sothram, the other being Kollam Rameshwaram Mahadeva Temple. Devotees visit regularly to seek blessings for prosperity and well-being, with special observances during Maha Shivaratri and Pradosham festivals.
