About Agartala Jagannath Mandir
Built by the Maharaja of Tripura during the 19th century, this temple stands as a significant religious landmark within the Ujjayanta Palace compound. The structure showcases distinctive architectural features, including square and pyramidal-shaped cone-topped pillars and orange-colored shikharas. The temple is renowned for housing idols of multiple deities with decorations depicting scenes from Lord Krishna's life. According to tradition, an idol of Lord Neel Madhav, also known as Jagannath of Puri, was donated from this temple. The shrine performs daily rituals and hosts the grand Ratha Yatra festival, during which devotees gather to participate in chariot processions and special worship ceremonies.
